| i've been having a nightmare month with the corrado, after having the CV joints and drive shaft replaced, all seemed well until about 2 weeks later a really bad knocking started on the passanger side, took it back and they reckon the drive shaft was fooked, again! so they replaced it again under warrenty, and i also had the wheels bearings and top mounts replaced whule it was there, and now i have just picked the car up from the garage and i get 100 yards down teh road and the knocking has changed into a squeaking kind of noise when the wheels are spinning..also when i brakes it makes awful noises - had the brakes checked and they are fine so i have no idea what it is - i need the car for work and can't afford much more - anyone know why this is still happening? any help or advice welcome!!!! cheers peeps! | |

| High pitched noise when you brake? Are the pads all free and well greased on the sliding surfaces? | |

| sure your discs arent warped? I had this problem on a mk2 when i had warped discs and they eventually warped the hub so even when i put new discs on it made knackered bearing type noises. | |

| i thought it was the bearing, thats why i had it fixed too, they said the breaks were fine, but then again they said the driveshaft was proper three weeks ago, so yeha, that could be it! anyone got a cheap disc lying about? | |

quite easy to warp a set of discs though mate i warped the g60 discs on my mk2 in 3 weeks . Although i guess it depends if you have been doing a lot of heavy breaking and spirited driving? Also : Check your wishbone bushes also had that problem on a gti made all sorts of bloody noises which i thought was driveshaft/bearing related. another thing worth a mention, how about your balljoints? More important than people realise, throw all sorts of problems when they get worn.

| i had the whole lot checked a few days ago before the new drive shaft went to to make sure that it couldn't be anything else, could a warped disc go unnoticed? also after lifting it up a min a go, it wasn't spinning smoothly, as in it would go round then jam a bit then go round etc... that is the disc, right? | |

| it was fine after fitting new brakes and such, got half way to work and there was some seriously bad noises coming from underneath and really bad wobble when turning - mechaninc thinks that the mugs who tried to rip me off with the drive shaft haven't put them on back on properly and the bolts have come loose...again! so im back at home, without a car again... | |

if i was you id take it to some1 i trust to get everything checked out just for safeties sakes really. tell me about it mate! serisouly stressing about it, it sucks! ive taken it to my familes mechanic now - it only went back to the other place (Ely tyres) becuase after the noise came back the first time, we discovered that the new drive shaft i paid to buy and be fitted wasn't fitted at all, they had just tightened up the old one and put it back on, but charged me for a new one!
