| trying to change the water pump and cam belt. theres about an inch gap down that side of the engine, but there are some 3inch bolts that need to come out. and ive not got to it yet, but im pretty sure theres not enough room to pull the pump out either being as the new one is about 4 inches long... | |

| Going to sound like an odd idea but get to Halfords find the Haynes manual for your car and have a flick through it and find out what it says for the water pump to change it. Then put it back on the shelf and have a go at home. | |

| ive got the a hookie copy of the vw workshop manual, which says nothing about taking the engine out, but im fecked if i can figure out a way without taking it out.
ive raised and lowered the engine as much as i could with that end engine mount off, but still cant get the other half of the mount off to get at the belt.
theres no way i can get the pump out either... if anyone got any ideas? | |

| I know you can jack the engine up quite a bit to get the mount off. Four 16mm bolts hold it on if i am right to the head/block area. | |
