Friday 22nd feb meet

Lets get the meets back on folks. Weather should be getting better now.

Friday 22nd feb

Cambridge meets are held opposite furniture village(next to halfords)in the retail car park on Newmarket road.

Postcode for satnav's is CB5 8WR.

Anytime from half 7 til late folks.

Pizza hut and tesco's is a little walk away if ya after food and drink. There's also a chippy over the main road.

i'm going to try and make one but not sure it will be this one.

I might find myself coming that way....know if anyone else has a MK6 GTI?


Will have VAGCOM (Micro-CAN, check compatibility) if I make it, if you need any tweaks please have an idea of what you are wanting done....

I will not take responsibility for any faults/issues caused from coding. I'm very new to coding and still dont know everything about it.

Well as there's been a lack of replies to the threads I've posted on various forums, it looks like this will be a wash out.

I'll not bother making the 24 odd mile trip down

I am going and have posted it on cambs dub collective Facebook page there's a few people said they are coming

I wasnt questioning how long youve been doing it lee. Just that youre trying to get the meets going again, yet dont go yourself because there wasnt many replies to threads. I know half the people that were there didnt post to say they were going.

It just looked like it was going to be a wash out mate. I posted a thread on various forums and only had a handful of replies.

If people don't post up that they are attending then it'll most definitely put others off. Maybe if my mk1 was on the road, I'd of probs gone, knowing that the drive home would be

I would definitely be there if the MK1 was on the road too...

Lets hope by next month the weather has picked up some what!

I'm sure once the sun is out we will start seeing a good gathering again, maybe its just for the dedicated young whippersnappers at the moment. I would rather have a head that needs it's valves lapping on the kitchen table with a cup of tea next to it at the moment but that's because I'm not made for the cold - other bald dudes know what I'm saying

I'll start a thread for the march meet in a couple of weeks mate. Hopefully people will get chatting then others will kind've have an idea on the turn out.

i'd def like to make one, although march is a busy month for me...social butterfly!

I may come to the march one, i know a few people who've been to some meets and now have decided they won't come again because they felt a bit unwelcome, that people just stayed in their own little groups and didn't go and see new peoples

i dont understand that mentality. when people come to a meet they should be proactive in meeting and talking to people. not expecting us to flock over to them.

what do they want? 30 chairs in a circle and name tags?

I can probably fit 30 chairs in the back of the Caddy....

Everyone is welcome at the meets and I know it's the same awkwardness at most meets anywhere to be fair. Let's face it, we English are quite a standoffish group of douche bags... If you are NEW to one of the meets, try to have a walk around and check out the motors, say howdy (this is the magic word for; Ahhh "Friend") and go from there... If all else fails, there's always Pizza hut across the street...

Nah i get what danny paranoid is saying tbh , i find that its really clicky down there, yeah i know i stay in my little group but i will talk to anyone that approaches me or when i walk past give them a smile and a hi and yes i'm shy so thats my own fault for not mixing with others, but over the last couple of meets that i have attended i have made some new friends who i now chat with at the meets and we have a laugh.

Think is abit unfair to say that what do they want us to do just a friendly smile etc usually is a good start.

Anyway thats my input whether people agree or not is up to them.

Just come up to me il speak to anyone lol

Next month I will go
