Help needed to salvage Nurburging trip! Empty
PostSubject: Help needed to salvage Nurburging trip!   Help needed to salvage Nurburging trip! EmptyWed Jun 20 2012, 17:42

Done loads of work on the Golf recently (1992 Mk2 GTI 8v) to get it match fit for a trip to Nurburging next weekend. All running fine until the most recent job which was to fit a new head gasket. Bolted it back together and its running lumpy (sounds slightly like its missing) and stalls when slowing at junctions/ roundabouts etc (when dipping clutch).

It’s had new plugs, gaskets, thermostat, both black and blue temp sensors (original VW parts), idle control valve and vacuum pipes replaced.

Booked into Tinklers for Friday morning so hoping they can wave their magic wand but any ideas gratefully received as the clock’s ticking!!!

Cheers
