thought i should finally put up some sort of build thread for my golf.
i have owned it just over two years and has messed me around a lot and caused a lot of grief but i dont think its ever leaving me.
This is how it looked when i got it

they have suffered a lot over the winter due to not having any winter wheels but they do have porsche centre caps minus the one that fell off at some point

not a lot has changed since i have owned it. i have de-badged the rear and sprayed the vw badge on the back to match the body colour. it also now has a badge less grill
this is how it looks now

what you cant see is the tear in the roof, the lacquer peel on every wheel, the rusted through drivers side wing and the lacquer peel on the very tops of both wings apart from that its not too bad. it is a little high at the moment due to my dad getting annoyed at it the last time he had to work on it for the MOT but the coilovers are only half way down so it will be coming back down as long as i can still get the car to my house, the side skirts are the major problem in going lower.

ultimately i want to get my bike test done this summer so i can take the golf off the road and strip it down and rebuild it from the ground up replacing what ever i need to for new parts
short term i need to:
*fit the new roof that is occupying my bedroom floor
*get new tyres all round again
*sort the rust out
*get a machine polisher and sort the paint out
*either source some winter wheels and refurb the ats cups or just get some new summer wheels and still refurb the cups
*i would also like to find a cream leather interior when i can

i will keep you updated as and when i do anything the roof is next though as puddles in the footwells and a soggy boot just aren't that fun anymore

so i finally had a day off for the first time in about a year and a half....so with the help of my dad and brother we managed to replace the old torn faded roof and fit a brand new one in just a couple of hours.

it went from this

Thanks
Yer I had a quote for £255 just for fitting so it's saved a lot and it was easier than I thought it was going to be
