| Mike, remembering I make a bit of my living from recomending and taking to places to eat.
I need to know a couple of answers.
What do you like to eat ? (french , italian, curry, turkish, greek, thai, chinese, traditional english) Whats your approx budget per head as price can make a difference. Do you want tv, pool, local busy pub that does food or do you want quiet sit down cozy place?
answers on a post card please.....
Avoid...... hungry horse, The robin hood, the plough, harvesters, etc, its all dross that fell out of alorry and got warmed up.
Look for places like .... The Crown and Punchbowl at horningsea (can be expensive but vvv good) The Wrestlers, newmarket rd (good thai food) The Burliegh Arms (maids causway(newmarket rd)) great lunch menu) The Wagon and Horses Trumpington (chinese)
To name but few, I would be happy to eat at any of the above and I'm a fussy bugger.

I had forgotten that lol! Somewhere with a pub feel, you can have something to eat and a chat and have a reasonably priced pub style food. The clientele will be myself (fine, dashing sauve yet rugged gentleman), my new lady and Curtis and His lovely better half so nothin fancy just good and in and around Cambridge Thanks in advance

| The wrestlers has sort of lost its pub feel as its really a thai that used to be a pub.
The burliegh is just a stone throw from the town centre as is the zebra on the other side of the road to it.
A little further down the hopbine always did good food and had a lively atmosphere. If youre after real ales then try the salisbury arms up near the station (tenison road) or the six bellls covent garden or the live and let live between the two (mawson rd)
If you want a restuarant and then to a nice boozer try any of the turkish/ chinese/ curryhouses on mill road then walk to the pubs just off in the back streets.
Remeber that term has just kicked out and the pubs will be full of stuck up pissed up posh twats. Just saying, you have been warned, !!

| The ship in Burwell has a nice atmosphere, very pleasant and helpful staff. The bar side is a proper nice, warm old pub and the restaurant side is a great Mexican restaurant.
There is also the red lion in stretham for good food, I may be a little biased as my girlfriend is the chef, but it has got a good reputation and the food is very nice.
Never realised you were a restaurant critic Guy! But I suppose you need the knowledgero direct the above mentioned purse school graduates around town
