| hey guys new to the forum recently purchased a mk2 gti 8v at the last cambridge meet took her for the mot today and she failed:evil: seems there is a large amount of play in the rear shocks when the subframe is jacked up when the wheels hang, been told its the top mounts need replacing, anyone had this problem? its on standard shocks with lowering springs btw | |

| how low are the lowering springs? Probably a knackered shock due to running lowering springs on the standard shocks. | |

| if you have -80mm springs on standard shocks they will get killed in no time chap. Try checking out the top mounts as suggested first though, might even only need a tighten up. | |

| depends how much you wanna spend chap? I found the "hot-tuning" ebay cheapies were better than the FK ones i had. I would go for the hot-tuning ones every time, only like £170 a set. | |
