| I have a Mk4 Golf GT TDI 110 and over the past couple of months ive noticed a strange whistling noise. Its not constant and there isnt a particular time it does it. It will stop if i push on the brakes and seems to only happen when im going straight. I thought it could be wind being channelled some where so when i brake the nose dips a bit changing the angle (ive got a headlight washer jet cover missing so there is a hole in the bumper). I dont know enough about cars to be able to pinpoint the problem. Anyone have an idea what it could be? Any help would be appreciated Chris | |

| If it goes when you use the brakes when its making the noise it sounds like something is possibly sticking on the brakes. | |

| well i've had a quick look at the brakes on both mine and a mates mk4 and from what i can tell there isn't any differences. Will probably have to take them all apart and have a better look.
Any other possibilities?

| Mine also does this, but it's a high pitched ringing noise.
Farking annoying but the rear brakes on these mk4's are easy to remove and whatnot.

chris We have had a few in at work. All we do is strip and clean all the breaks and re copper grease them and 9/10 it usually does the trick. Its worth a go mate
