| well this is my baby. a 1969 beetle. i am the third owner from new it has a ful service history since 1969 ans has only done 87k! it was totally standard up untill two months ago when i started modding!!! engine is the original engine but i have just rebuilt it and is now a 1641cc with twin choke webber. it is lowered 2 notches at the rear and has a adjustable 4'' narrowed beam up front. plans are to go lower as im not happy about seeing daylight under the car!

| dont narrow it!!! get it wound right down on some skinny wheels. Slammed bugs on stock beams look much cooler in my opinion , dont let anyone tell you you need a narrow beam to go really low. Heres my old one, was voted the lowest non airbagged bug in the UK at the last T3D open day, just get the leaves on the beam ground down an it'll be fine. | |

| nah its all about the norrowed beams, love the wheels proper tucked away gives it such a good stance.
but that beetle is pretty low! | |

| suprise suprise i didnt fix my car this weekend! however today i decided to make my new beam instead of bodging the old one! so started to strip the new beam i got hold of (free of charge!) then almost completley stripped its actually a perfectly good genuine beam thats only covered 49k! then i stripped it completly including bearings and bushes. and then i did this! got to order my adjusters tommorow. then modify my shock towers so they still fit under. and move a few brackets and things over. | |

| bit more done on my front beam today thought id post a few pics. firstly after chopping the beam in half i needed to clean up all the surface rust to make measuring and marking things out much easier. then had to remove steering damper mount. it will be welded back on 2" further out once i have welded the beam back together. and this is what i have so far. next thing to do is modify the shock towers to clear the inner wings. | |
