Good on ya for starting something different from the norm!
Always loved the metro. Probably because my parents have owned 3 of them when I was growing up.

When I find one in decent nick, I'll nab myself a Rover Metro GTI or an MG metro Turbo some day.
So much fun, just like driving a go-kart!

no engine mods just yet. i struggled putting 110 bhp down up the pod let alone 143! first mods will be decent suspension set up and proper tyres!

no the standard gti loom will not run the vvc. for starters the loom to ecu plug on a gti is a single plug and the vvc is a twin plug. no guages will work and theres no way of running the vvc mechs. having one made for £60 wich i think is a very very good price.
also the vvc ecu wont work with the 5as (alarm ecu) or key fob so they have to be coded together too.

i guess its about time i updated this. i took it down the pod again with some even worse tires and managed a 15.01 with a stock 1.6! with decent tires i could have run a high 14 easy.
also fitted my vvc engine! its now a bit stupid and my mate cant keep with me to 100mph in his twin turbo supra! very pleased with it so far. also got myself some slicks for the pod fingers crossedwith much more bhp and and sticky slicks i should see low 14s possibly high 13s will find out in jan.
anyways heres a few pics

This looks awesome. You thought about getting some rivet arches and wide fronts or are you trying to keep the sleeper look?

not updated this for ages. since last time its had the suspension sorted finally all lowered properly and is now nice and stiff! the car has also had a bit of a diet. heavy seats are now soaking water in the yard in there place are 2 sparco bucket seats and harnesses. sound deadening has gone only thin carpet now to keep it a little more comfortable inside. the rear has been stripped out and now houses a roll cage.
heres a few pics
