| Well, just a little update for this week as haven't really had the chance to do a lot! Not exactly conventional but not having the proper equiptment it was down to improvisation... Got there in the end, can you spot the (shall we call it) deliberate mistake? Luckily, my meachanic neighbour is going to take it to work and get it on the press to sort it out for me, phew! Cleaned these up and kitted them... Give these a lick of paint... ...so they are ready to go into these... Also took some sealer off one of the rear arches to see what they were like. As it turns out they are not too bad, just a little patch in the corner needed at the moment. I haven't done anything to the body as I am still waiting for deliveries of replacement panels! | |

| Got a few little jobs done this weekend, here goes: Tidied up the back end a little ready for the new rear panel, but it won't be going on yet as still have a bit of rot to sort out.. Then tidyied up the wheel well hole ready for blank; And removed the sludge form the swage lines in the last three panels; Rear wing Rear Wing Door Door Some areas of the front slam panel were depressed inwards so had a bash; Finally, I got the rear beam assembled, just the brake lines ot go! Had to hoover the bloody rug afterwards of course! She went nuts!!!!!!!! All bare metal zinc primed, going to start welding up the wee holes in the panels tomorrow night as is a relatively quiet job. Thanks for looking. | |

| Hi Peeps, Ok, the delivery from CQ's was unfortunately wasn't packed properly so the enigne mounts scratched and dented as everthing rattled together in the box: this is how the goods came out of the box; But it is all getting sorted now so have no complaints, QC's are knidly collecting said parts and replacing FOC. Many Thanks to Richard One engine mount and the front engine mount poly excaped intact! | |

| So now that is sorted I got a bit more done tonight: Had lots of rivet holes in the front panel and swage lines so began the deleting process: You can see that the panel hole has been butchered. I will endevour to straighten these cuts as best I can. Failing that, new front panel it is! Also did a door and both rear panel, ready to grind back now and re-apply more to fill gaps on weekend hopefully! Also, after reading Another thread earlier on I scared the life out of myself looking at some pics of rot unerneath a golf so had a bash at the underseal... Looks ok at the moment, there are a few little areas of concern but these by no means need cutting and patching, just get the rust eater on it after a good grind! I should be able to keep going with the underneath in the evenings as not a very noisy job. Oh, and HD photos at last, if not a little shakey on the trigger! Thanks for looking. Daz. | |
