Wheel refurbing - how to polish wheels???

Subject: Wheel refurbing - how to polish wheels??? Tue Jun 24 2008, 18:52

im awaiting a set of wheels to arrive and they will need a full refurb as they are salt damaged and corroded.

so my question is how does one go about polishing an alloy wheel?

i was gonna start by sanding down the wheels but i dont know how to polish the lip once it has been sanded.

does it need to be painted or laquered with something?

here is a set i did all myself, got all the gear and its not that hard just a bit arm ache:lol:

I have the same wheels and would like them to look like yours what u charge ive done a bit of finish polishing on my th lines but thats about it.

still refurbing my wheels but managed to get an allrite finish using the kit. Used several grades of wet'n'dry before polishing...

if u go 2 machine mart or sumwhere u can get a polishing kit 4 bout £20-£30 wot includes a coarse & fine mop & polish. use kitchen towel instead of cloth 2 get the final finish. if u use lacquer they will dull
