i'm running 165/50's on a 7" rim

they give me a nice amount of stretch without making the wheels look stupid on the MK3, before i lowered it to the point of stupidity i used to drive the car as hard as it would allow on windy back roads and the they never gave any problems.

165/50 on a 7.5"

and on a 7"

have you tried tyrestretch.com for ideas?

yeah ive looked on tyre stretch.

i know its down to preferance but i didnt know how stretched to go.

im running out of money at the mo so cant afford to make a mistake and buy some tyres that i dont want/need.

this tyre stretching is hard work.

i was looking at 165/50's, is it the right choice to put them on the 7's and 7.5's????

165/50 bridgestones is what id go for just because i hate how nangkangs look, im puttin bridgestones on my centras which are 7s, 7.5 is fair stetch but been done enough so cant be that bad. you could go 185 on the rear but again they are only nangkangs which i would never go for.

Ben, you want stretch but you also want to give the car some stick yeah

165's will give you a nice stretch but then you've got a narrow footprint which IMHO, would'nt be the best for ragging round the corners.

175/50's look like balloons

I run 185/45 nankang ns2's on my turbo's as they are an happy medium between the 165's and regular 195.

Unfortunately, i've only seen nankang and kumho make 185/45's but cant find a supplier with the kumho's

The nankangs are'nt as bad as made out to be honest mate, you've seen me drive lol . Go steady in the wet though

Take a look at my turbo's mate as mine are 7's and 7.5's at the mo so you'll see if you want more stretch or not . The 7's look square though
