PostSubject: 6n polo head gasket gone   6n polo head gasket gone EmptySun Apr 18 2010, 06:46

my engine has been gettin way over temp when i'm driving along gettin nearly off da water temp scale (easily over 115 degrees) so boiling all my coolant and jus pissing it out as i put it in. phoned garage and ask and they said deff sounds like head gasket has gone due to alot of steam coming out the back of it and it getting way over temperature. wanted to know what engine code I got so can try get hold of one. (s reg 1.4cl) Also wanted to ask if the head gasket had gone would it cause a problem in fuel consuption?

Hi i think yeah it will cause a problem in fuel consumption it will cause a fuel leak to your engine it needs these gaskets to prevent those leaks that is my opinion on your question. and yah some people tell me that a cylinder head gasket set is nice if you have one it will not cause any problem on that part of the car.
