 vw bora hunting

ive got a vw bora 2.0 t plate the car seems to shake (hunt) when on idle. i have no loss of power when driving just seem to play up on tick over ive changed the coil pack plugs leads but still does it as any body had the same problem and fixed it could do with some advice as it driving me bad i had the throtle body cleaned out it was ok for a bit then the problem come back so thinking it might need a new throtle body
i am located in the cambridge area

Call vw give them the reg as car may have a recall notice my passat had one for the throttle body last week and it has been done

unplug the air mass sensor. if it runs alright after that then its your culprit

i have discounected the mass air flow and it made no difference to it running it run the same as when i plugged in could this mean the air flow meter is f*****ed

probably not, it will just drink more fuel. i meant if the dodgy idle is sorted out thats what it will be. but dont take my soul advice here, check before you buy a new one as there pretty expensive

If its a turbo powered model, its probably the throttle body.
If its a non turbo, it'll be sparks/HT leads/MAF sensor.

Best to ask Guy.

Have a look for an air leak aswell mate, servo pipes, intake air hose etc.

i have looked at all the pipes but cant find any leaks when i disconect the mass air flow there is no chance to the running of the engine which makes me think its the throttle body as it been off a few times and cleaned it works fine for a day or so but then the problem comes back does any one no where i can go it have it put on a vw computer to find the problem as vw wont £80 to stick it on the computer

Where you located bud? Tinklers might be able to stick it on their computer for you.
