| Right guys, just trying to get an idea of how much you guys think my engine will be worth when I sell it! Posting the thread here before it goes into the classifieds to get some feedback Got a 20v to go in now so need some funds!
Got all original recipts for the engine(£2985) plaque for engine and the dyno print out, 172.4 bhp and 160 ft lbs torque!
The RE 2000 was GTI Engineering's flagship engine! Forged rods, forged pistons, cams, 50mm inlet manifold, stainless exhaust manifold and reworked injection system.
Engine is in good condition and pulls like a train with an awsome sound track!
Thanks for looking guys |

| Goodness there's a name I havn't heard in ages.... GTi Engineering. Those were dogs matey, I always hankered after one of them, my mate had one in a jetta and it was at the time untouchable. They really are a niche market item, I would put a feelerout on ed38 as it will hit more people and the people in the know will have a better idea of value. Thats just my opinion but there are others on here who have a better idea. I bet its a lot of fun though . Good luck with your quest. |

| Thanks for the advice mate! Appriciate it! I'll Sign up to ed38 and give it a go!
I put the Same post up on mk2owners and got nothing but critisism!
I've got to say it is very fun to drive but coming from an s14a I miss boost that's the only reason I'm going to sell the engine!
Very rare engine these days but still not sure what it's truley worth??? |

| God knows, its got to be a grand-ish to the right person who wants to build a period "hot hatch" If it wasn't for the fact I have vr on itbs to transplant into my forthcoming mk2 project I'd like it myself. |

| On ITB'S i'd be expcting round 190bhp considering at the moment she making 172bhp! 20v prob looking bout 250ish?? With qpeng. It's the way both engines deliver the power that's making the choice hard! I like them both! The sound of ITB'S on full chat is an amazing noise but then again a 20v on full boost! See my problem! |

| Given the choice i'd keep the engine you have and put it on some throttle bodies.. If your current engine was poop then i'd understand putting in a 20vt but as it is a pretty rare and is good engine i would probably stick with that Up to you though really fella.. a 20vt would be good fun and fast but will just be another 20v mk2. Whereas a gti engineering on throttle bodies is a little bit more special in my opinion |

| its more period to do a 16v on bodies i guess but it depends what you want... if you get bored of the 16v on bodies thats sort of it without spending a lot lot more money. Whereas with the 20vt its 150-225bhp out of the box depending what engine with you picked with a choice of tuning parts and power/torque you can run. |

| If you want power and reliability and possibility of making even power 20VT is the way to go, I personally would go for the 20VT and dump the 16V (or turbo it) |
