i have over fueling problems with my cabby. anybody had this problem before?

dont really know bout that?? after fitting the WUR u sold me it hasnt made a difference. the guy thats fixing it said that 3 and 4 injectors were not so hot. could they be sticking causing excess fuel to spray thus causing flooding? he also said its running really rich and smells really 'petroly' from the exhaust.

Have you changed the metering head? and was it for an 8v or has a 16v 1 been used?

16v metering head would cause it to over fuel

yes the metering head woz changed. got that from a guy on mk1 owners club website so i can only assume it woz from an 8v. might have to get the old one put back on and see what happens then. just dont know whats goin on with it!!!mk1 golf gti 1.8 k-jet over fueling 730194 mk1 golf gti 1.8 k-jet over fueling 730194

Well you told me that it all started from a rotten fuel filler neck. So i'd of changed that, cleaned out the tank then replaced the filter on the metering head.

Now you say it smells of fuel so has the plugs been checked to see if they spark well?

Possible dodgy HT leads?

Poor earth from coil mounting bracket to rocker cover?

HT leads have been changed, so has coil. spark plugs are fairly new too. Runnin out of ideas. could a tweak with the mixture control on metering head sort it out you reckon?

Yes it could but i'd try your original metering head first as surely the bits of crap in the fuel would stop at the filter
