| Well I've been off this week and I've been busy, however I'm stuck without a computer to post pictures but I will get some up I promise.
I thought my steering had been a little "off" but on inspection I have found the problem, my anti rollbar had decided to no longer be attached to the front wishbones!!!!
Now rectified anyway, been painting up engine and collected a few more bits, just waiting delivery of parts, pieces, and wheels.....whoops did I say wheels!
Cheers James will be a few weeks but gonna need your services for definate now | |

| We have lift off!!! Engines out and binned! no need for engine lifts I just dropped it on the drive and pulled it away, then spent the next numerous hours scrubbing 25 years of crud from the bay, I've got one leg done and primer fillered it, but not happy with it just yet, gotta work tomorrow so bummer but thursday full on again! I have been taking pics so will get them on soon (promise!!) | |

| so as promised i have been at the bay for the last week and a half and here are the progress pics: 1. well stripped out engine and tossed it to one side. [img] [/img] 2. was left with this. [img] [/img] 3. Then spent many an hour/day scrubbing it all away, filling, priming, sanding and priming again. [img] [/img] 4. Finally happy(ish) with it so painted it up. [img] [/img] 5. Dont think the rattlecan red came out too bad [img] [/img] 6. THen ive replace all the bungs/plugs, gator from the bulkhead and reattached the servo/master cylinder. also put on the slam panel and lights just to get a feel of the red/black "Dennis the menace look" [img] [/img] 7. Now while all this has been drying and moving along ive been stripping and rebuilding the new engine going in, replaced all the old parts and treated bits to polish, chrome and powder. 8. ive also stripped down the subframe, steering and replaced with polybushes, new wishbones, droplinks and gators. 9. im hiding all the loom and moving the battery and washer bottle, binning the header tank and generally tried to lose most of the "extras" ive had hassle with non deliveries and paypal disputes but things are finally here so more to come. cheers, any comments welcome | |

| Got some more done today, yesterday i stripped down the gearbox and basically soaked it in gunk for a few hours, then loaded it into the back of the octavia to the texaco garage where i jetwashed and power hosed it down to remove the crap, needless to say i got some strange looks so dried it off last night and primered it up and gave it a coat of paint, and another, and another! then left it to cook in the airing cupboard. went in on it this morning and god its bright!! so married it up to the engine and i think it looks cool, but an arse to keep clean!! took some pics but dont know whether to post it up yet, also stripped some more parts down that were wrong and needed replacing then had to trim down hose elbows to make bits fit, god its never ending. cheers | |

| been on it again this morning, i used my mock up rad whilst waiting for the new one to arrive, found the slam panel to be in the way of the filler cap, so dremelled out a groove for better access. also measured up for a push style slimline fan to fit between the rad and slam panel, and ordered that. p.s wings are going so ignore, also ignore the crap rad mount!! gonna look better attached than that! then started the process of putting all the parts back together, just need to pick up wishbone tomorrow for other side still looking for a good quality cap/bung for this any offers? bolted all of it together...........to find the alternator obstructs my filters!!!!!!!! so ive been chatting to some peeps and happily this looks like its solved with a shiny mod. | |
