bigger brake master cylinder Empty
PostSubject: bigger brake master cylinder   bigger brake master cylinder EmptyThu Jun 11 2009, 15:25

just wanting to find out what the advantage of fitting one is, as ive read a bit about them making the brakes worse...

i thought if the bmc is bigger than standard, then with the same effort and pedal travel, you will move more fluid, thereby increasing the pressure on the brakes.

however ive read on another forum that a bigger bmc will give less pedal travel, but less force on the brakes as well...

a mate of mine put a bigger bmc on his 200, which stiffened the pedal up, and gave better braking force.

can anyone clear up my confusion? scratch

i believe its something to do with the caliper size in realtion to the mc. I have toyed witht his idea on my ninja. Basically i just ended up going for the same size mc and just changed the hoses. In theory though the idea of fitting a bigger mc will work however the brakes may become a bit digital i.e on of off and not much inbetween.
