door handles early chrome 1s

will the early chrome door handles fit onto an 83 mk1 golf?
seen a pair for sale and was thinking of getting them any advise
guyz please need to sort out me handles asap

If there the same shape and style as origanals they should. You may need to change locks over, and a dremel may come in handy as u may need to grind out the barrel hole,this has probley put u right off but i ended up doing this but i got new chrome handles so yours may be ok if there used,depends if u get locks with them really.

ive got a set of those down stairs, they dont work i seem to remember, locks are fine its just the mecanism on the rear, if you look that one open the door by pushing the lock out, but the ones on your golf push the lock down to open the door, hope that makes sence, i think you can swap the parts over but not 100% sure

well the handles on mine are mk2 handles do u think id be better off looking for some chrome mk2 handles might just be easier to put them on im not sure how to do anything like that sort of work with mk1 handles i do want to get them and try but dont want to fcuk it up

they look fine m8 as long as theres a left and right.If u get stuck let me know and u can drop them off and ill switch the locks:)

ok cheers now for the price war on egay haha i dont want them as i want think they look good against the colour of the car ive never tried to do any stuff with door locks so be an adventure but we all got learn sometime mite have to take you up on the lock barrel
