mk2 gti runaround.oh my god pinstriping is so cool

ive got to take my daily gti off the road for a while to do a few things so ive bought another gti to get about in.












not got any plans for it apart from lower it, using springs i got in the garage and fix the bits that need fixing in order to make it drivable

get some hottuning coilovers and slam it 120mm!!!

so far ive fixed a few problems;

i bought the car with no heaters - a new thrmostat sorted this with a nice flush of the sysem...good ol hosepipe.

ive fixed a waterleak by taking off the waterpump and covering it with rubber gasket goo before putting it back on.

when messing about with the above i noticed that the radiator was what i call dangerous; the top hose pipe on the rad had snappe meaning that the hose was just puhed on for luck with nothing to actuallly seal to, this could of been fun when boiling pressurised water came pissing out.
so i changed the rad for another 2nd item but it seems that now this one has a very slow leak.

the car also sat as high as a monster truck so ive used some 30mm springs and 16v shocks to bring it down to earth a tad. also i changed the pasenger side front wheel bearing while i was at it cuz it was shagged and was very noisy at 100mph.

now to insure it and drive it i suppose.....though i dont want to, i like my blue 3dr too much but i need to overhaul it.

the car has undergone another transformation, only a week after its plaid attack.

and its now is used for my daily duties.

ive had some pinstriping done on the back and ive had a few people comment on how good it looks.

ill put some pictures up later for you to admire cuz i know people are fans of pinstriping on here.

Honestly if I ever needed any pinstripping done, ben would be the bloke i'd go to; attention to detail, quality of the work, it really is the dogs.

it would be good if it was lower but im not going to buy anything for it.
also i actually like the smooth ride compared to my other 2 mk2's.... when we all went out for a burn last night in the woods , we went down a well bumpy road and as its not on coilees it was a real smooth drive.


i have to say though i havnt driven a standardish gti, 8v or 16v, in a very long time so its a wierd

yep, now if thats not the greatest pinstriping in the world i dont know what im going to do with myself.

okay, i also got bored the other day so me and laura turned my old yellow taxi bonnet into this

it seems to of gone down well with general passers by, people at work, mates and fellow dubbers..... plus it puts a smile on myself but not as much as the pinstriping.

i also gave it a title that seems fit for the week

i like it lol where is the one witht the leccy tape bonnet?

this is the car which also sports the electric tape 'picnic' bonnet.

i might change between the 2 every now and then

lol i forget as ou have so many mk 2s do the boot in tape too i hate to say you might need the tape bonnet sooner as it chucking it down here
