Brackets Empty

Bit of a random question, but does anyone know where i can get hold of brackets to hold 2 square bars against eachother?

Basically I've got a new roof rack for the golf , and a basket which should fit, but doesnt.

Plan is to get 2 more bars running along the car from front to back, but i need to find clamps to clamp them on?

kinda like this;

Brackets Bars

both bars are square, just cant for the life of me find anything that would work..

scratch that, i know what you mean now. just looked at it again. you could drill holes through both and put a bolt through? or run the bars down the length of the roof over the top of the bars that are already there and use an exhaust clamp or similar to hold them on

cheers for the reply mark, i know it's not exactly a normal Q

hmm that sounds like a plan..

i take it an exhaust bracket simply goes over once, so it would cover the height of 2 bars with a single clamp?

i was thinking maybe getting a 2 square plates, a hole in each corner of each then a bit of rubber. place the bars on top of eachother with rubber to stop slipping/marks and a bolt with washers straight through..

think this might work? also where do i find such plates? lol

problem solved! Rolling Eyes

didnt realise the feet of the basket twist depending on which bars you're trying to put them on, they were just a bit stiff where they weren't used.

i fail.

cheers for your help tho mark
