mk2 daily..

Recently bought some new wheels for it so when i had washed it today took a couple of pics.
quite pleased how they sit in the arches, im going to have a play with the coilovers tomorrow and probly raise the front a tiny bit about 5mm to try stop the rubbing. and drop the rear a touch too. It has a bit too much nose down atm i think i like it a little more level, but not too far or you get some reverse rake going on!

sorry they are only phone pics atm i really need to get a camera. what cameras you guys reccomend? sub 150 quid ish..

Its by no means perfect but i love it getting a few spots of rust sorted out hopefully in the summer and a new windscreen at some point aswell, got a big crack in the passenger side. plus will be putting a full stainless system on one day aswell.

A couple of 'slighty' better pics i took the other day, i nicked my brothers phone...bit posher than mine . Need a camera any recomendations?

These pics are still before i had fiddled with the coil-overs so it does sit a little better now than in these pics. still not 100% happy with how it is though but it will do for now.

Yeah im at crc every thursday. you will see it this week with the standard quad lamp gti grill back on.. am trying it out and its growing on me i must say. While the debadged ones off im going to put a red stripe around it.

Picked up my wheels from anglia wheel refurb today. Was origionally just going to have them refurbed and silver again, but decided to have a change and went for black instead

Tryed out my silver hex caps and they have grown on me a little, breaks up the black-ness i think but im always changing my mind so whether ill use them or the black ones who knows... just need tyres now.

Was 60 quid a wheel. I have never had any done before so don't really know if thats the going rate or not?

They were shot blasted, all curbing filled ect and then powder coated in a big oven. Top job aswell

looking good james! i agree silver caps do break up the black, kind of emphasise the wheel slightly more

ever though of colour coding the caps to the car?

I was tempted to try out some colour coding but decided not to. I thought they would be easier to sell on if i ever wanted to. Have got a can of atlas grey in the garage though

Now im in the situation of choosing whether to fit the tyres myself and risk me scratching them, or take to somewhere else so that i can moan if they scratch my wheels

Havent tried anywhere yet as only got the wheels back saturday, but i think i will probably have a go myself. Will use a load of masking tape and plenty of tyre soap.

Need a new windscreen now aswell, it has been cracked since i bought it but today it has cracked almost the whole height of the screen not sure if it happend when i put cold water on it to wash it after it had been sitting in the sun getting hot, im sure it wasn't cracked that much when i drove it last.

bought a camera today, nothing fancy alot better than a phone though! So testing some new pics...

Yeah i live just down the road from there on a farm so would of seen it parked up out side.

Picked up an engine from martinB today not sure if i will be putting it in or not yet but it was cheap and thought why not..

Its a kr 16v head with a 2.0 abf block which if the things i have read are correct should be quite a pokey combination.

Not done anything with it yet just turned it over a bit by hand (with no timing belt this is a bit tricky tho) took the cam cover off to have peak and then put it back on . Trying to find a timing belt that fits it now though. Have tried my old one that i changed last month but that was too short. Don't know if need an abf one or something else? because of the different head?



Oh yeah if your reading this tiz my golf is a kr afterall, so must just be a strong one
