| take the barrel off and use a screwdriver other than that youll have to get another barrel and key or complete set of locks | |

| Its a chipped key. Apparently linked to the ecu and fuel pump. Cant get away with just a barrel can I ? | |

| i think for that then you would have to go to a dealer and talk to them about the key code, and then most likely pay for the pleasure of having it coded which doesnt come cheap. | |

From what i believe mate. only tdi's had built in immobolisers, not sdi's. I'd of thought you could tell by looking at the key | |

| i got my polo key reprogramed at cooks, they needed it for a whole day as security codes need to be sent from vw in germany. i think it cost about £50 for 2 recodes and one key :( | |
