Schern's Polo Empty
PostSubject: Schern's Polo   Schern's Polo EmptySat Dec 20 2008, 13:20

Said I'd post some pics up so here they are!

This is my 1994 1.05l Mk3 Polo Fox. The lowest spec they did as far as I can tell. Didn't even come with a glove box lid (although I've now added one). First set of pics are how it looked when I bought it and after a good cleaning session. It was fitted with an odd shaped exhaust for some reason which caused it to hang really low. Used to hit cats eyes!

Here it is looking very dirty after collecting it and bringing it over from Nottingham.

And here it is after a good clean.

I then started buying new bits and pieces for it. First up was a new exhaust to replace the weird shaped one. That helped improve clearance under the car. Then I changed the dash so that I got a rev counter, fitted a glovebox lid and changed the doorcards front and rear from grey and green stripey vinyl to black fabric. Also fitted a new steering wheel. All these extra parts came to about £100. Gotta love old dubs!

Then I got the rear arches rolled which enabled me to drop the back another 10mm which meant I had to revisit the trailer. The back will go lower and I keep meaning to drop it another 10-20mm for the day just to get fully under, but its effort!

So that's about it really. It'll probably be up for sale early next year as I've got a little one on the way and its not really the most practical car so it'll be making way for a big estate, but it's been nice to own and cheap to run. It's a proper little tarmac terrorist on those wheels too. Sticks like anything in the dry, but understeers like a barsteward in the wet lol.

Yeah, it would be either me or the wife driving it. Although there does seem to be a phantom look-a-like floating about too. I seem to get people thinking they've spotted me when I've not been anywhere near where they think I've been spotted!

Looks tidy that. Carribean green always  looks sweet on old dubs. I bought a similar specced polo for my girlfriend she loves it!
