| hi there peeps now i have changed my fuel pump on my golf mk2 gti 8v as it was louder than the wife so got one off a 16v same year would this have been fine would i have any problems with doing this because now after about 3 weeks my car has broken down and to me it seems to be the fuel pump as im not getting no sound from the pump when i try and start and as any1 no's you can hear the fuel pump on the mk2s has any1 had the same problems cheers guys | |

| have ya got all dash working i.e batt light oil and so on??
On my 16v the connection on the back of ignition sometimes plays up common fault so been told??
If ya give it a wiggle mite go and if that dont help then prob is fuel pump F**ked..... :( | |

| yere all on its trying to start just wont i am thinking prob pump as there is no sound when you turn on as there normly is on these pumps just changed that to fook | |

| taken the fuel lines off in the enginge bay see its coming out ??? if not like tiz said the realy we had this problem on lees (vr6dub) vr mk2 | |

| also check fuse number 18 which is the fuel pump
Had problems with both of these when i was trying to start my VR, caused me all sorts of bloody headaches untill i sorted them | |
