Tintop more door mk3.5

Ok it's time I put something back. So here is my new daily.
Some of you will have seen it kicking about as it used to belong to d&l Lee.
Well about a month and a bit ago he agreed to sell it to me and so the story begins.
This won't be much of a build as most of the work has been done but as you will see i've been making changes to make it mine.

2.9 bottom end

full us spec 3.5 front end

These are a about a week after I got it. It had some rust so got that sorted and had some other bits painted.



Plans.
I'm half way through my boot build but no pics yet as dust and cameras don't mix should be finished by monday and I'll update then.
I've had these painted and am having tyres fitted tomorrow



Porsche twist all 4 are 17x7 et 55 I'm still looking for a pair of 8.5's
I will update more after the weekend whel the wheels are on and the boot is finished.
I know oem+ is not everyones cup of t but be kind please.

Really quick update. The tyres are on and the wheels have had some wax to seal them up.



I've also fitted one rear to check for rubbing. But as the calipers are red I didn't take any photo's ( getting sprayed tomorrow)
Tyres are 205's and look a bit big but they came on the wheels so I've got to use them for now but I will be fitting 195 next time.
So thats today. Tomorrow i'm having the calipers sprayed black, the wheels fitted and going to try and get the boot finished off.

Another quick update;

They are not finished yet as my brother is still drilling my dust caps and I didnt get time to black the tyres but my bigest proplem is they rub
I did all the maths and worked out they would have 2mm more poke with these adaptors I thought this would be fine (I had to have 2mm more poke or 3mm less) WRONG
So it's back to vemom for some 20mm adaptors for the front then move the 25's to the back and put the 30's in a box for when I change to 195 tyres.
The sub is done but no pictures I'm hoping it clears up a bit today so I can get some better shots of the whole car.

Another picture.
I've got all the crap out of my boot today so I took a rubbish Iphone picture of the sub. I've decided to make a cover for the amp at some point but this is it for now.

Now I know it's not big but that the whole Idea as I work away alot and need to be able to get a suitcase in my boot.
It took me longer than expected as I wanted it as small as pos while still being spec size inside. It sounds ok for a little ten inch.

Another update.
I decided that I just can't get low enough on 17's (I just can't run 35's on my daily) So I hunted around for some 16's and came apon these.

A matched set of 8x16 928 s2's. Don't get me wrong they are not perfect or in anyway show wheels but after 2 days with a mop they are shiny.
Here they are on.



So that's it for now I really must get on with the van now so the golf has got to wait.

lol you wasn't holding me up bud. I wanted to get behind the passat on air to see how it handled the bumps.

Ah fair enough bud, I want air but its so expensive! So uesful though!

Yeah I've looked into air but sunday decided it for me. I'm not having air on my golf. Although I like the idea of going where I want and not having to worry about the roads then just sitting my car on it's cills when I get there. I just like the coilovers when things get twisty. I may look into air for the van but the golf is staying as it is.
