PostSubject: new bloke from essex   Sun Mar 20 2011, 09:49

hi got told about your site yesturday by another member so thought id join up. im paul and from sunny essex a little village called pebmarsh.
been loving the vw's for a few years now and had a few but at the mo i have a mk2 caddy van on coilovers flipped alxe and ibiza front end. its not pretty but just waiting for the time to come to be able to pull her off the road and paint her.

heres a couple of pics

bought her standard just over a year abo needing a gearbox ect so after a new gearbox cam belt ect was all done i started to drive her daily.

ive had a mk2 golf mk1 cabby on the road in the past but also had a mk1 tin top corrado mk1 caddy as projects. got my eye on a mk2 rocco at the mo as well.

also love my yank stuff i have a 1968 oldsmobile cutlass and a 1974 thunderbird in my workshop awaiting love.

anyway dont laugh to much at the van

Beardy

right this is the thinderbird its all complete but i took the engine out to do core plugs and took the complete front clip off. she is a 460cid engine which is about 7.6 i think big block v8. she is about 19ft long and just over 6ft wide

the cutlass is what i like to call a mk3 capri on steroids. she is a 350cid about 5.7 litre v8

thats all i can find atm will dig some more out

this is my old mk1 cabby 1.6 carb

this is my old mk2 1300 turd with twin choke webber

there's a few corrado 16v's around but i dont think i could tempt you with another engine-less corrado lol

if you can fine one with a black interior i could be swayed probably. its for my misses anyway she wants a mk2 golf so i could possibly talk her into a corrado.

may have to give a miss on the worn 16v lump. could be swayed on the spare tho haha. just move all the junk next door as usual lol

and as for selling the golf im sure you probably said that about the corrado (ended up in my workshop) the white mk1 (ended up in my workshop) also about the mk2 rocco (will end up in my workshop) can you see a pattern starting haha Cool

i'm gonna have to keep my eye out. if i find the right car, i may be tempted to sell that other engine with it. you could sort out the valve stems alot quicker than me on it Thumbs up

What plans have you got for the caddy?

I'm just getting an Inca and keen to know what you can do with them, as they are essentially the same. Thumbs up
