| I've lost the key to my 1990 b3 passat, I'm still hoping it will turn up but if not, what are my options? Could an auto locksmith get in and cut me a new key from the lock? | |

| im gonna have a go at the barrel tonight. will ring vw/some auto locksmiths tomorrow and see how much it will cost to have new keys cut to suit my locks. if they want loads i will come over with all the barrels. im going to pick something up with matty at some point, but coming over for the mk2 bits would be cool. | |

| got the barrel out, and the golf key is very very close to pulling all of the pins in. i think i can fettle the ignition to get it on, so i can get the barrel out and the file down the one pin that doesn't quite clear. should be sorted then, and i will have the same key for golf and passat | |
