If i had a black E46 id defo be getting the tinted inditators and the black kidney grills, Looks awesome mate.

Personally it has to be gold centred LMs! Normal LMs have been done to death on the E46s.

you going for 18" or 18" max?

Failed my MOT on "Severely corroded front brake lines" which is a bit unnerving but at least it's cheap to fix. With that in mind I ordered up a set of these bad boys

My 328ci E46 - Page 2 Jom-13

They should be here about Mondayish so I'll get my car up on the ramp at my mate garage and get these fitted and change the brake lines whilst I'm at it.

I'm pretty much like a kid waiting for Christmas at the moment excited

If I had the money I would mate! Unfortunately I need to shift my other BMW wheels and fix/sell my golf before I can even think about getting them. Sad

So after my drop links turned up me and a mate started work on the BMW at about 2 on Saturday.

There were a few complications which made it take us about 5 hours over all but it was all worth it in the end. Wink

I'll let the pictures do the talking.

Before :

My 328ci E46 - Page 2 P1159632

My 328ci E46 - Page 2 P1159633

During :

My 328ci E46 - Page 2 P1159634

My 328ci E46 - Page 2 P1159641

Seems the original shocks amd springs had never been replaced so these had covered over 100k

My 328ci E46 - Page 2 P1159637

My 328ci E46 - Page 2 P1159639

After giving my car a good look over it seems it had previously had the subframe problem but it had been fixed and strengthened

My 328ci E46 - Page 2 P1159638

Dropped

My 328ci E46 - Page 2 P1159647

But then the helper spring was hitting on the tyre and the wheel bolts we had weren't long enough to use 5mm spacers so we had to take out the helpers and put the adjuster rings about 10mm from the top of the threads.

Rears after we finished

My 328ci E46 - Page 2 P1179772

Fronts. I will drop further after I get spacers or put my 17s on it. Decisions decisions.

My 328ci E46 - Page 2 P1169648

Plate will also come back off after my mots done

PostSubject: Re: My 328ci E46   My 328ci E46 - Page 2 EmptyTue Jan 18 2011, 12:34

So here's my dilemma. I can either slam my car on the set of 17's that I already own (on the MK4) or lower a lot on a set of 18's that I am yet to buy.

The 17s will look sick and also only cost me about 200 (adaptors) to get on my car. The pros being it will look s**t hot and not be that expensive but the cons are that I'll have a slammed car again which seems a bit stupid, I mean having a 2.8 but not being able to utilise the power would just be dumb.

But on the other hand I could buy some 18s (est. 900 all in) and have a nice looking drop and still be able to get the most out of my car. Pros and cons of this are pretty obvious.

I'm really not sure what to do here. Rolling Eyes

Im probably going to be with the minority here, but f**k it, don't slam it on 17's, you may aswell have bought a 316 if you're going to do that. I reckon 18's and some healthy stance will do it.

I haven't really seen anyone put an E46 on 17's other than this.
The wheel style works, but the size is too small. 18" Toplines with a nice hefty drop would look pretty sweet.

I'm with Jim on this one.
18's on the 46, 17's on the 36.

That black one is sick, Max, you do have a fair argument, but I still reckon 18's are the way to go - why don't you go for the cheaper option first and see what you think?
