Swimming the channel

After some persuasion from a friend and fellow racer i have decided to take part in Aspire's "Swim the Channel" challenge. Apsire are a charity set up to help people with Spinal Cord Injuries. http://www.aspire.org.uk/

Now you all know from looking at me that i am not the fittest person...so i thought this would be a good way to a) get fit, and more importantly b) help people out who may be having a pretty sh*tty time in life.

The challenge is to swim 22 miles between Monday 13th September and Sunday 5th December. Although there is 12 weeks to do it in, i am aiming to complete it in a maximum of 7 weeks.

Starts in 6 days time Now aiming to swim 3.5 miles a week as a minimum

3.5 miles in so far...will have at least another 2miles done by the end of the week

On track to finish it in half the allotted time

Thanks dude...won't be there on Friday though unfortunately. If you wanted to give the justgiving website in my signature is a good way as Aspire can claim back what's known as GiftAid which is essentially more sponsorship for nothing as a tax rebate...doesn't cost you anymore

Another 120 lengths done this morning (1.5 miles)

40 lengths down this morning...now up to 14.5 miles

Aiming to do half a mile tomorrow, Thursday and Friday...and i'm off on Wednesday so will aim for 1.5-2 miles

All finished as of Thursday 4th November

Managed to complete the 22 miles in just over 17hrs
