 Bike carbs

What are the advantages of running bike carbs rather than webbers? I know nothing about carbs! Some advice please Thanks Kelvin

Not hard at all to set up, just make sure you dont get anything off a us spec bike as they have plates in that wont allow you to fiddle with them.

Advantage = Their awesomeness!

Seriously though, advantages are that they are cheaper and you can easily set them up yourself. Just make sure you get an appropriate set for your engine.

Have a search on Club GTI, that's where I got all my info....

Nice one thanks they would be going on a bored out pb with tsr pack d head! I have been looking at supercharger kits but bbm dont do them any more

Dont forget the carbs would be sat over the hot exhaust manifold mate.

Yeah I know thats what put me off in the first place and turned me towards the supercharger and its 50% more power

A well wrapped exhaust with a custom made heat shield will be the safest option for those too Smile

I know with weber's/dellortos they have a tendency to spit fuel back out of them...this can lead to an engine fire if you have no wrap/shield.

Mine popped like a barsteward on the Jetta!

and you get a lot of stand off vapour with bike carbs if you dont use the airbox so wouldnt fancy them sitting over the manifold

Tis true, mine smell lovely when Ive been booting it Would work better with a crossflow head on an 8v methinks....

Just done a deal for dellorto carbs and a manifold for £150 need to be serviced but for that money happy as a sand boy next thing custom made heat shield me thinks
