205/45 or 205/40?

I recently changed the wheels on my car (as I'm sure most of you are aware) but the fronts scrub like a b***h.

I'm buying new tyres soon to get a bit more stretch on the wheel so that the arch isn't savaging it, plus as an added bonus I can get lower

So the question is do I go for 205/45/17 or 205/40/17? 40's are a lot cheaper and I think may look better but it may look silly in comparison to the rears, what's your opinions.

Here's how it looks at the moment.

what have you got on there at the moment, front and rear? (i know its in your thread somewhere but dont wanna scroll thru trying to find it)

what specs are the wheels?

is it worth buying new tyres all round and just selling off the ones you've got?

are you planning on dropping the back down anymore?

9.5j on the rear, 8.5 on the front et's of about 15ish. All with 215/45/17.

The rear's about 3/4s of an inch lower and is about where I want it to be now so I'm going to leave that be. The plan is to replace the fronts and just keep the tyres as spares for the rears.

how much room you got upfront to go lower? as in sump and so on. cuz goin down to 40s will require quite abit more lowering, where as the 205/45s not much but will give you a tiny bit more clearnace.

The subframe was raised about an inch when I put the 17's on so there should be plenty of room to go back down. I've got a shallow sump and engine spacers under the mounts which means there is pretty much no chance my engine will hit either.

id go with the 40s then, but there will be a noticable difference between front and rear, will give you and instant raked look though
