Well here we go
Basically i brought the car off my mum early 08 after passing my test the year before and having a saxo vtr. It put me off french cars for life so a german reliable car was the option.
First thing on the agenda was to get some new wheels on it. So working for halfords i used my discount and got these...
I also upgraded the front brakes to black diamond drilled and grooved discs and pads. Gave the calipers a quick paint too.
Next on the agenda was to get it lower and being a student at the time i went for just the springs. I also invested in some 20mm hubcentric spacers.
Before Spacers:
After with springs fitted too:
After a good wash polish and wax i used the meguiars clay and 3 step kit for this.
Interior also got vaxed too.
That night me and a few friends went downt o the local industrial estate where max off here got to work...
Really needs mopping:
I then got fed up with looking at the epic fail of the wood effect vw used as trim in the gti's so then that was changed to this.....
Before:
After:
I then invested in some sparco wipers, bonnet bra and a bailey dv. A original mod in my opinion a real golf ball
After this i then decided that i was going to turn my car into more of a project so first thing was to sort out all the little niggly bits i.e bumpers few little rust bits. So off came everything lights etc. I then undersealed the car and behined the wheel arch liners. Not too bad rust wise for a 10 year old car imo. Clutch also got replaced too and a few "small running issues"
After this i then lost my job so things went on hold for a while before i got another job and more funds. I then brought my ninja as a cheaper mode of transport for the summer so id save money on fuel and i could then not have a strict time scale to work on the car.
I then had to change the clutch which was a fiasco as i found out my clutch was a later bigger diameter than the one that should have been on there as the car had stood for a month or so i found that it was drinking water i thought nothing of this so it went into a garage to have the cambelt and water pump replaced etc which revealed the head gasket had gone. So im hoping to hear back from them soon.
After much thinking I decided it was time for a fresh look after the car being away for so long so as most of you may know i puchased these off matty last weekend.....
Had a couple of the bolt heads snap off but ill get that sorted.
I then also painted my badges....
Before:
After:
Also did the wing mirror covers:
Im hopefully getting the car back this week after having the head put back on then its on with finishing the bumpers and sorting a rusty sill out then its mot time. I got some hottuning coilovers so ill fit those after the mot.
At this moment im stripping the wheels apart still deciding on a colour scheme but watch this space guys
