PostSubject: more progressss......   Wed Sep 17 2008, 19:34

come back off holiday a week early, so have a fair bit of time to work on my caddy number 2 Razz got a fair bit done in the last couple of days but nothing worth taking many picks of as ive just been constantly filling and sanding. nearly there with te drivers side now tho so finaly making good progress. got a few piks to keep you guys going, will be more updates daily for the next few days...hope you like...all comments welcome good or bad....

filler anyone Razz

primer time

more sanding and filling, now in primer but i forgot to take a pik.

rear bulkhead guid coat flatted down and MORE FILLER tongue

dent in the roof taken care of

other little dents filled along the top of the rear window.

drivers side stone chip/underseal removed aswel as the trim clips, going to weld the holes up tomorrow then fill a dent, then all ready to be re-stone chipped.

also removed the stone chip on the rear of the quater as the original paint was pealing off so i thought it would be easy to grind down and start again.

also drew up am idea for some door signs, keeping with the rustowagen theme, will only say "vw specialists" underneath the restowagen when i paint them on tho. also not decided on colours for the letters and drop shadow yet so any ideas are welcome.

PostSubject: Re: project--rustowagen mk1 caddy   Thu Sep 18 2008, 22:09

got a fiar bit done again today, had a slight problem involving the grinder taking a chunk out of the top of my fingure which was quite a shock, managed to take part of the top ofmy nail off then all the way over the top and back down the otherside Suspect kinda put a stop to things as i had to quickly go to the doctors tongue

anyways still managed to carry on when i got back, the drivers side is pretty much finished now, just got a bit of filler to rub down along the top of the wheel arch. and even managed to get some stone chip in a can from halfords yesterday so also got that on before i had to pack up for the day.

got a little bit done on the passenger side rear quater, is much strighter than the drivers side to start with so hanst needed much work so far, but still need to grind back the old stone chip as its also flacking and redo it. any way here is some piks from through out the day. comments please peeps

also managed to sort one of the wheel arches out, hamered them out from the inside of the tub, didnt turn out to bad. not sure if im going to put filler on them or just leave them as they are? they now are in primer but i forgot to take a pik.

Shocker on the finger dude! Gota hurt! Done the same thing many times.
Sides are lookin real good and the wheel wells straightened out good. Was more on about the rust tho, guarantee it'll be back within a year. Shame not to get rid.
