been at it all day. was a right arse getting all the tinware off the engine. gonna gunk it and jet wash it tomorrow i think.

only trouble is that its a 1200. gonna need a longer throw crank and barrels and pistons to make it upto a 1641, so might not bother. just cruise about with it as is.

deffo gonna rebuild it whatever happens. nice carb and some dual cannons and it should sound rather nice.

if you want some more power from the ol 12 mate search for "hot 1200" user on volkszone, think he had quite a bit of success tuning the 1200. Im sure somewhere there is a barrel and piston kit for the 1200 that makes it 1400 but i cant remember.

cheers tiz, will take a look. im not even 100% that it is a 1200, the guy i got the car from thought it was and it says 1.2 on the tinware, but that doesnt mean it is.

do you think it would be proper slow more or less standard if i left it a 1200? with just a better carb?

get me the engine code while your out there(under the dynamo stand) then i will tell you what engine it is.

It wont be mega slow it will be ok in that fibreglassed body nova, i had a 1200 in a beetle, did 70mph in it which suprised me. You can still get single port twin carb kits i reckon.

looks cool mate. I like the electric door/roof.

If you fancy some 1600 barrels and pistons for it i've got some laying around, and carbs if you go twinport?
