| I have had this bug since i was 16. i had always wanted a split van but with prices going mad i had to settle for this. I worked all summer to save for it. Basically she is a 1972 1300A bug ( this is a 1200 body with a 1300 engine and gearbox something vw did of the speed freaks the wanted all the extra 5bhp lol ). She was a great car when i got it, pretty rust free with a ok paint job. I learnt to drive in it and then used it as my daily drive for 2 years. Unfortunatly the engine developed a large amount of endfloat and then packed up so i replaced the with a 1641cc engine with a 32/36 webber carb. i ran it around till i left college. By this time quick repairs to parts of the car were making it unreliable and the salt from 2 winters was taking its toll so in august 2005 she came off the road for a light resto that was meant to take 6 months.
