PostSubject: My cab..   Sun 27 Jan 2008 - 17:38

I 've had her for a little over four years now, originaly bought as a daily while my other white cab was stripped for a 20vt.... well things changed ( i bought an A3 quattro turbo)and that shell was sold on....

Still hankering for more power in a cab i dropped a 16v lump in which she ran up untill september when i decided it was time for a 20vt.............. then i changed my mind Laughing

It's gonna be a 16vt.......

How she was....

And her sorry state now.....

Today i had a go at welding for the first time Laughing

most people would get two scrap pieces and learn from there, not me i cut my wing up

filler was drying as i packed up for the day

i done a few bits in the bay too ....... but we wont go into that just yet Embarassed Laughing

Engine has already been built, 1.8 kr with s2 pistons and is all wrapped up waiting for the bay to be done.....

'78 five door............gone
the other cab soon for sale

so had the roof down on the black one today and went for a cheeky spin round the back roads... well i gotta test it before i take it for mot.....

after waiting the best part of a month for the new board for the welder it arrived.. fitted it yesterday and........ NOTHING.. so i had the major ump...

I was that mad i changed my facebook profile to add my disgust..

Today an old friend who i havnt seen for time gave me a bell( happens to be a welder by trade) talked me through a few things...still nothing .till i unscrewed the handle and found the clip on feed wire... unclipped....

best part of a month wasted.......

oh changed the petrol tank on the red one today so i can add the pump and hopefully have it running soon....

So it's been a while and haven't really progressed all that...

Home made spray booth.. Laughing should be rolling the car in there after i get back off holiday, as long as the weather is good..

Had a really crap day sunday, opened the garage up but went inside to sort my nans computer out (which took a lot longer than planned) came out to find the garage door when open slightly leans back and flooded everything in its path, engine bay, welder, grinder the list goes on...luckily no power was in it's reach!!!....

So i sulked.....

managed to finish the boot lid off ( saying finish in a loose term) got over eager and primered up No ...... not the best thing to do in this climate..
