Would love a cage in the Jetta Smile How long did it take to do yours? and what sort of cost is it just for the material?

I get terrible wheel spin off the line...would be cool if i could get the 60ft down and get low 15's...i know the jetta should be quicker but am struggling at the mo to get it to hook up right. As a ball park figure the Jetta weighs no more than 750kg...the engine as standard runs 112bhp with the fuel injection...but now i'm running a 4-2-1 stainless manifold...ported (matched to the manifolds) and polished head with the twin 40 dellortos...would be happy if i got around 135bhp (don;t know if that's too optimistic)...but will find out on Friday at the rolling road Smile

Will be posting up on here on Friday with what i get.

In fact thinking about it i should get better launches at Bug Jam as i've changed the suspension and have now got stiffer shocks. I had stupid amounts of squatting going on with the spax ones that were on there before. Just ordered a solid mount for the front engine mount as my engine rocks a fair bit under heavy acceleration.

If your car is that light, then I'd say an early 15 or even a 14 should be possible with a good launch and the new found power. All those little changes should definitely help you launch, you should be aiming for more like 2.1 - 2.0 60fts really.

I look forward to seeing how much it makes on the rollers. There is a chance that I might have to double enter at bugjam, so you might be facing the mighty smokey joe again! Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing
