Relectantly I have to put my mk1 Golf Gti up for sale.

1983 'Y' reg.
Black, rare non-sunroof model, I am the 10th owner, currently on 126k, mostly original, even has some rare parts still fitted including the grilles behind the front bumper and the 2 clips that hold the rear seat belts in place. No sags in the headlining, original striped interior, structurly and mechanically sound. Starts, stops and drives brilliantly. I used it everyday from July last year until february this year and it never let me down. I have some history and a stack of receipts. A very nice, solid mk1 golf. However with all cars this age, there are some bad points.

No tax or MOT, no reason why it shouldn't pass, currently SORN'd
1sst gear can be tricky to find, has had bushed and linkages replaced, just need adjusting
small dent in bonnet
small tear in headlining at rear
has had a roof aerial fitted at some point
3 vdo gauges need putting back in, wiring is all there
no radio, but again wiring is all there
does not have original steering wheel, comes with a rare 2 leather 2 spoke porsche wheel AND a mk2 Golf gti leather wheel
electrics for rear lights need tidying
boot floor still in primer
cosmetically needs tidying up a bit,
small scabs on bootlid and small bit on arches under the plastic arch trims.
has a pair of 'flag' style mirrors fitted, I do have the original drivers mirror and will come with the car.

In all, a nice, solid mk1 Golf GTi, which I will be very sad to see go, but I have just started a new job and need something more economical and pay off a few debts. It has been sat in my garage gathering dust and has not seen the road since february. I would like £2000 firm, no offers OR a p/ex for an economical dub or some sorts + cash my way. Thinking along the lines of mk2/3/4 polo, b3/4 passat, mk3 golf tdi or gti, lupo, vento etc, etc. It must have MOT, not fussed about tax, must have a rev-counter (I'm fussy ) and must not be worth more then £1000, but no caddys or vans please.

The car is located in Great Paxton. My number is 07921 905854 and my name is George. Thanks for looking.

Here's some pics for now.....
