does anybody know roughly how far a wheel bolt should poke out the back of the wheel? need to buy some bolts for the merc rims as my 25mm thread aint quite long enough to bite. also has anybody got any longer wheel bolts (14x1.5) they would sell me?

Billy is right about 6 turns by hand from the threads gripping to the bolt being tight on the wheel.

Only place i found in Cambridge to sell them is Carnoissur (sp) which was quite expensive. Try ebay if you can work out how much more thread you need

They could be long enough but i think mercantile have a 60 degree taper whereas vw is a radius. Need to confirm this. EBay doesn't seem that cheap for long bolts, near £40 with delivery and I remember Matty buying some from carnoisseur for that ages ago.
