morning all

tried to change my front wishbone bushes this morning and have sheared a bolt off in the subframe (again!), so have to get the whole thing off to either repair/replace.

just wondering if anyones done it before? so far as i can see i need to undo the steering rack, rear engine mount, anti roll bar and the subframe bolts obviously.

also does anyone know if theres a difference between the 8v and 16v subframes?

obviously i know they are goin to be hard and thats why i need some but i dont what the ride to be like it was with the ebay specials, i know you always get what you pay for and thats why im geting KWs for my tintop ...

Could it be the track rod ends? what else could it be and what's worth/cheap to change while doing the track rod ends?

however ive read on another forum that a bigger bmc will give less pedal travel, but less force on the brakes as well...

a mate of mine put a bigger bmc on his 200, which stiffened the pedal up, and gave better ...

hi,

i've lowered my polo 6n recently and i'm aware this will throw out the front geometry.

the problems i'm having is that the car keeps pulling to the right into oncoming traffic (never a good thing) and the streering feels really light almost skittish on the front end.

i've tried tyre pressures and swapping wheels but this has made only a slight change.

has anyone else had any issues like this after lowering a polo.

i've also heard this particular model of polo has ...

barely missed the bus but as you can imagine it shat me up. so i was wondering how much is it to fit abs to my golf (mk3 1.4) and how is it done.

are all mk1 golfs fitted with the same steering rack,I looked at GSF and found a part number 43021,up to a 83 MY and just out of interest I found the same number for a caddy up to 92 MY, Im sure all the manual racks must be the same as there is no other part number available on GSF's website.

Not even a powersteering rack, I later found out that vehicles fitted with a PAS rack were a in house dealer fittiment,

Hi all, i would like to know which strut mounting rubbers would be best for my 97, golf GTi, 8v, (front & back) as I will be putting on coilovers (can't wait) also the front mounts rubbers need replacing

I’ve look around and it seems some say to use the rubbers from a “passat 16v” or “G60/passat” (don't know if G60 will fit my mk3?) or should I go for uprated top mount rubbers?

I drive hard, long distances and would like to do 2 track day’s a year

any thought?
