Here we go again fellow fendubbers!!, July cambridge meet this friday 25th july.

Same location as usual

Halfords/Furniture village car park on Newmarket Road, Cambridge, CB5 8WR.

Starts anytime from 7pm til late.

Approx 50 cars at the last meet but been bigger at the meets before, dint help with overcast weather though.

Anyways, lets hope its nice so you all come out and make this 1 the biggest yet before winter comes.

Edition38 show starts last friday in August so we probs wont ...

Hi, any help appreciated. My golf gti mk1 cabby has a flashing low pressure oil light. I have changed the sender unit and it still flashes. Had a compression test done and all ok. Does anyone know somewhere/someone who is good with VW auto electrics please? Need to get this sorted, just incase the engine is going to seize

my daily is still da mk1, i use it for work every day at the moment, its a

1.5 cl 5 speed good little run around payed 350 for it. its got coilovers and ive got a set of 15x8.5 work equip splits that will be here this week some time.also i picked up a rare steering wheel from a auto jumble. my plans are big brakes and fast engine. im looking at a g60 lump tomorrow if the price is right.it will get a respray soon aswell not that it needs one just want it to be mint.

mkII driver 5 door. It is on mini light wheels with 2 good tyres and 2 brand new ones. Theres no rust at all on the car. The inside is in pretty good condition the back wheel bearings need changing but i will sort that. It will come with a cd player jbl sub and amp aswel as 6 by 9s but it doesnt sound to loud. It is on coil overs ermmmm any more questions just ask. Oh the engine went and i have either a 1.6 engine or a 2litre gti The choice would be yours also got 9 months mot and 3 months tax ...

Very good condition car, low mileage at 31,000 which is lower than average. Tidy car has been looked after well really.

MOT till october the 12th, amazing condition so its not going to fail another one.

Fresh 6 months tax has just been put on it.

Very economical, sporty looks, nice black finish which is the best colour for it in my opinion. Good stereo and cd player system.

Lovely to drive, smooth, no mechanical problems what so ever, no unwanted noises from the engine or gearbox.

Before you say it, yes I drive a BMW E30 but I'm a big VW fan having owned a few in the not to distant past (although I do have a scirocco hidden away). I find the VW scene to be alot better than the BM scene so that's why you find me here. I'll be looking to come to some meets after my broken leg has healed.

Just thought it would be interesting to see what people would drive if they could not have a VAG car. So what would you have (real world within your budget) if you couldnt have VAG?

For me, having previously been into old skool Fords before getting into v-dubs it would probably be another one of these:

Escort RS1600i, owned one before - great fun, rare, fast and a load more reliable than the S1 RST i had, although would probably put the original wheels back on.

took the car to be aligned earlier and ran a spray paint can over...

now have a big black explosion up the drivers side of my white car...

tried wiping it off straight away with a rag, but it just smeared it.

i seem to be proof that some people have no luck at all!

Thought it was time i started having a nice car instead of a rat...So i found this little bright mettalic blue jem. Very happy with it just need to get a new door and passenger side wing, get them sprayed and it will be minty mint mint.

Long term plans are to keep it fairly standard, coilies instead of the 60mm springs and shocks and some RMs... So im going for the OEM+ style really. Anyway here it is :

morning all.

problem 3616516 with the polo is now its lowered the front arb "hoops" hit the chassis rails...

anyone else had a problem like this? and if so how'd you sort it?

looked on clubpolo and they all say to take it off... not keen on this idea

next idea on there is to mod the rails with a hammer...

arb links on the polo are only bout 2" long so cant fit shorter ones.

im thinkin more along the lines of a mk5 arb (its a thicker bar, but dont ...

I have a free car ticket for the Red Bull Empire Of Dirt contest down in Devon, near Newton Abbott this coming weekend (Fri 25th July & Sat 26th), it is for a car full of people, and that includes campers!

I can't use it as im off to the British Motor Show, but if anyone fancies going to one of the most unique BMX comps around, and can collect from the Ely area (I can meet you somewhere if needed) PM me.

Idealy you will need to go down on friday and stay on a camp ...

well this is my baby. a 1969 beetle. i am the third owner from new it has a ful service history since 1969 ans has only done 87k! it was totally standard up untill two months ago when i started modding!!!

engine is the original engine but i have just rebuilt it and is now a 1641cc with twin choke webber.

it is lowered 2 notches at the rear and has a adjustable 4'' narrowed beam up front.

plans are to go lower as im not happy about seeing daylight under the car!

215/40 16 Kumho's good amount of tread but have scuff marks from arch rubbing

flat caps all round

the rims had a �300 refurb by 'mike the polisher', powder coated in chrome BUT... 2 of the wheels have been kerbed (just the lips, no dents)

i'm in no rush to get rid of these and i dont have a spare set of wheels so i'm ideally after a swap/px

Sorry this isnt car related but its about my girlfriends scooter.

Basicly she just spent nearly �300 getting it fixed and serviced. A few weeks after it broke down again. Aparently the engine is ceased somehow. (2stroke oil tank is full)

Which makes me think there may have been a blocked oil filter stopping the engine lubricating itself. Surely they should of checked and replaced this as part of the service previously? I can see them wanting a sh1te load more money�now to strip it all down ...

right here is my Corrado project which also has to be my daily driver unfortunatly. its a 1990 1.8 16v in nugget yellow (nice and subtle! ).

I have not done a huge amount to it (well not modifications anyway) this is not long after i 1st got it:

1st thing was to put on my 280mm Momo steering wheel outta my previous mk2 turbo:

then a 60mm slam and some pressed plates and black grill badge:

Wanted complete 8v digifant head in fully useable condition.

This is for taxiboy (Andy) as his head gasket has just gone and he needed his stem seals doing aswell.

We're looking for a quick/cheap fix and therefore need an unwarped head with good stem seals.
