PostSubject: Low oil pressure warning lamp   Wed May 14 2008, 15:40

Hi, any help appreciated. My golf gti mk1 cabby has a flashing low pressure oil light. I have changed the sender unit and it still flashes. Had a compression test done and all ok. Does anyone know somewhere/someone who is good with VW auto electrics please? Need to get this sorted, just incase the engine is going to seize

Cheers

Chris

Oil pressure is fine, thank goodness! Now I need a new set of clocks! Cheaper than an oil pump Very Happy.

I've had this problem on mine. Mine has an oil pressure gauge in it, so I knew that wasn't the problem. I changed the clocks over last night, problem solved. As for for MOT's I'm not 100% sure, but I would have thought that if you had someway of proving that the clocks had been changed for a genuine reason, with a record of the mileage on both clocks, then wouldn't that be ok?

There should be no problems changing your clocks...just take pictures of the new and old clocks side by side wih a date on the pictures, and then one of each set of clocks...just keep these for your records.
