Pretty simple m8, did it on my cabby to a switch on the dash cuz was too lazy to run wires up though the steerin column. but all i did was earth from battery to horn. take power feed from somewhere (you choose) to the switch then from switch to horn. simples

or you can find the fault!

is it a single horn? i presume so. check your fuse box, the top right hand relay socket should have a "L" shaped metal pin in it. check that it's in place first

no, you've got it all wrong! charactor is usually something your car gets as you break the car while fixing THE original problem

really....???..... I thought they were features....lol.

Yes, i have the L shape in the top right corner. it's the original horn so i'm guessing its single..??......i have just brought a new one tho, electric klaxon one so im gonna swap it before i mess with wiring. i'll try Matty's idea but might take the wiring to the steering wheel

after a new horn is fitted put a multi meter across the two wires in the horn push button, if they are ok it is probably the connection between the steering wheel and the column

Have you checked that the metal tab on the column touches the back of the wheel?

yeah, i took the steering wheel off and clean it up and bent it a bit more to make sure it was making contact. I ran a temp wire from the horn to the contact on the back of the steering wheel and think i've shorted the wiring out.......oops!

right, i have got a horn push button to put in the dash. Before i wire it up i need some advice, i'm going to take a feed from the ciggie lighter so it's constant 12V+, run it to the switch, then from the switch to the horn. My question is do i fit the inline fuse between the horn and the switch or between the ciggie feed and the switch...?!?!?!?. I'll be using a 15amp fuse
